Haier Europe and Rise Against Hunger Italy join forces again to combat hunger and poverty
Haier Europe, part of Haier Smart Home, the global leader in major home appliances, renewed its partnership with Rise Against Hunger Italy for the second edition of the volunteer day for the upcoming Christmas holidays. The event, held at the company’s Vimercate headquarters, involved employees, including senior management, working in shifts to pack meals for local families facing hardship.
Haier Europe continues to champion its commitment to social responsibility through initiatives that combine solidarity, team-building, and support for local communities. Following the success of 2022, this year’s edition saw over 100 employees package 500 food kits. The packaged boxes will then be delivered to the local NGO Area 51 of Rozzano, founded by Gennaro Speria, known as Genny Lo Zio, who will be in charge of distributing them to families.
“We are delighted to support Rise Against Hunger once again, strengthening the movement against hunger and poverty,” said Karim Bruneo, Corporate Communication and CSR Director at Haier Europe. “This initiative is an invaluable opportunity to engage our colleagues actively in this mission, and we thank RHA for providing a platform to create value and offer tangible support to local communities.”
“We are thrilled to partner with Haier Europe again this year to advance our mission to fight hunger and poverty,” said Alberto Albieri, President of Rise Against Hunger Italy. “Events like these demonstrate how corporate solidarity can make a real difference, not only by providing immediate aid to those in need but also by raising awareness about food insecurity. Thanks to the unwavering support of partners like Haier Europe and the dedication of their employees, we can spread a message of hope and support to those who need it most.”
The initiative aligns with the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, emphasizing awareness, collaboration, and partnerships to tackle hunger. By packing meals, the goal is to provide concrete support and raise awareness about the challenges of food insecurity.
The volunteer day event further strengthens the bond between Haier Europe and Rise Against Hunger Italia, underscoring the importance of collaboration between the private sector and non-profit organizations in building a fairer, more sustainable future.
