Haier Europe donates washers and dryers to support a new laundromat service in Reggio Calabria, Italy
We are proud to announce the opening of a new laundromat service for the poor and homeless in San Ferdinando, located in the province of Reggio Calabria. This initiative follows our previous support to laundromat locations in Turin, Naples, and Catania.
The laundromat initiative is conceived and promoted by Procter & Gamble, with support from the Office of Papal Charities and Caritas, in collaboration with Haier Europe.
Inaugurated on November 27, the facility is equipped with washing machines and tumble dryers provided by Haier Europe, along with laundry detergents and cleaning products donated by Procter & Gamble.
Karim Bruneo, Corporate Communications and Sustainability Director at Haier Europe, commented: “We are pleased to contribute to this project, which enables us to participate in significant change and improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable members of our community. The opening in San Ferdinando highlights the importance of providing tangible support to those living in difficult conditions, reinforcing the right to hygiene as a universal principle. We are grateful to Procter & Gamble, the Office of Papal Charities, and Caritas for their invaluable work that makes such a socially significant project possible.”
The laundry will be managed by volunteers from the Caritas. The service is dedicated to assisting those in need, allowing homeless individuals and the impoverished to wash and dry their clothes or blankets free of charge.
